The Mothers of La Loma Village were treated to a pre-Mother’s Day Tea and Scones Social followed by a much anticipated Fashion Show. This event – involving fine fashion, great friends and delicious refreshments - was the talk of the town for the day!
Then on Sunday, again in honor of all the Mothers of La Loma Village, the Dining Department prepared a delicious Champagne Brunch with a menu designed to make each mother feel like they were having a feast fit for a queen! Each mother was presented with a flower as a symbolic “Thank You!” not only for raising their own children but for being such excellent role models to much of the staff.
La Loma’s loving tribute to mothers continued on Monday with a social event featuring singer and pianist, Mary Hollan.

La Loma campus expands...
Vital enhancements and expansion coming to 353-acre campus
This is the first significant expansion to La Loma Village since it opened seven years ago.
Expansion plans include:
• Upgrades and expansion of a state-of-the-art rehabilitation gymnasium within the Care Center,
• Creation of an Occupational Therapy Suite,
• Addition of a Community Café/community education center,
• Creation of 10 new one-bedroom assisted living apartments,
• Development of outpatient rehabilitation services open to the entire community, and
• Two new casitas, both featuring two bedrooms/two baths as well as a two-car garage.
Project highlights include:
Rehabilitation Center: The 6,400-square foot rehabilitation gymnasium represents a massive expansion over La Loma Care Center’s current capabilities. Equipped to serve both residents as well as the general
public, the Center will provide inpatient and outpatient therapy needs as well as cardiac rehabilitation.
Areas within the Rehabilitation Center being upgraded or added include:
• A holistic healing garden,
• Physical, occupational and speech therapy,
• Home health training, and
• Cardiac rehabilitation and monitoring.
Occupational Therapy Suite:
A simulated home environment where patients can adjust to independent living, the Suite allows health care professionals and family members to foresee patients’ needs and alleviate potential problem areas. Before returning home, patients will be closely monitored by their medical partner, ensuring they can achieve independent living in the Suite.
Community Café:
The Community Café, a specialty coffee bar and community education center, will significantly impact La Loma residents and the surrounding community by providing rehabilitation patients, caregivers, residents and community members a place to rest, recuperate and enrich their lives.
Assisted Living Apartments:
Assisted living addresses the needs of adults for whom independent living is no longer manageable, but who are not yet in need of 24-hour nursing care. By dedicating these new apartments aimed at addressing assisted living patients’ needs, La Loma hopes to increase the health and speed the recovery of its residents and community members.
Two new Casitas:
Two bedroom/two bath Casitas are being added, each being approximately 1,500 square feet. Both Casitas feature a “home like” feel, and can provide an easier transition from home for some residents.
